Inclusion in sport
Inclusion, understood as a human rights approach, means that all people, regardless of their abilities, backgrounds or needs, are naturally included in all areas of social life.
Accordingly, Hochschulsport offers various opportunities to exercise together with others and to enhance individual performance - regardless of disability or chronic illness.
The Hochschulsport programme is generally open to all students and staff, and individual adaptations can be made at any time.
We have also developed an inclusive sports programme:

Inclusion in the break time express
Welcome to the inclusional break express! This 10-15 minute activity break is designed to create a positive and supportive environment for all members of our university community, regardless of individual ability or impairment.
Why inclusive?
The inclusional design of the break express is central to the theme of inclusion as it ensures that everyone can enjoy the benefits of this short session of physical activity. Our break time is not only for relaxation, but also promotes physical and mental health.
How is this designed to be inclusional?
- a variety of exercise options: We integrate a variety of movement exercises that appeal to different physical abilities. Whether you prefer to stretch, strengthen or mobilize - there is something for everyone on the break time express.
- consideration of sensory needs: Our movement session also takes sensory needs into account. We use visual instructions and integrate movements to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
- communication and awareness for students and staff: Information materials and training help to inform our students and staff about the inclusive movement exercises on the break time express and promote an understanding of different needs.
Participation?
We offer the inclusive Pausenexpress both digitally (Tuesday 11:30-11:45 a.m.-no registration required) and in person.
In presence: coordinate with interested colleagues, form a group of 4-8 participants and determine the room in which the training can take place. One participant in the group writes to our contact (nkubin@uni-bonn.de).
The following information must be included in the e-mail: 1) number of group members, 2) details of the location (institute, street, house number, floor and room number).
Buddy programme "GemeinsamAktiv"
The Buddy Programme "GemeinsamAktiv" of the University Sports Department aims to offer an inclusive sports programme for students in order to reduce barriers and inhibitions to using sports facilities. The programme is open to all students at the University of Bonn. The individual needs of athletes with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses are taken into account and the buddies are trained accordingly.
